About Kimberley Alpine Resort
Kimberley is your laid-back winter destination. You wake up on mountain, put your boots on sitting on your bed and head to the village for a coffee. It’s a very civilized way to winter!
Kimberley is located in the Purcell mountain range and receives an average snow fall of 13 feet of snow in a season. They also boast the best combination of sun and light Purcell powder of any other resort in Canada! With over 1,800 acres of terrain, 80 named runs and glades. Other winter activities here include cross-country skiing, dog sledding, and snow shoeing.
The North Star Express Quad is the way out of the village – it takes you up to the top of the face you can see from your hotel. There are a bunch of great warm up runs off this chair. Some green and blue runs to get the legs engaged. Put in a couple laps here and then head over to Tamarack.
Tamarack Double Chair (yes, double chair!) has been taking skiers and boarders back up Tamarack Ridge for a long time! This side seldom sees the sun and as such the pow stashes stay fresh longer. There are many black runs here and a couple blues. If you’re putting in laps here, mix it up with a trip back to the Northstar once in a while to get the top section of Tamarack ridge. Green skiers, this isn’t your fave…
See the bunny? Off to the Easter Triple Chair! This chair gives you access to Vimy Ridge and Black Forest. Both faces have runs for green, blue and black riders, so bring everyone! Scope out meeting places to regroup and take photos of the gang. If you go too far down, it’s a nice long cruiser back to the village. So, if it’s near the end of the day, GO HARD and relax on the way back to the Après outlets
