Have Questions About MagicBus to Marmot?
We have answers. If you don’t see your questions below, reach out to us, we will be happy to assist.
What does a day on the MagicBus to Marmot look like?
Your day starts at the Edmonton Inn, boarding the luxury motorcoach at 5:00am the morning, and departing at 5:30am. Quick stop at A&W in Hinton for breakfast, then back on the road.
You’ll arrive at Marmot Basin around 10:00am with your lift ticket already in hand and priority chalet parking secured. Spend the day skiing, snowboarding—or even trying alternate winter tours.
At the end of the day you’ll board the bus for the return trip at 4:30pm sharp. It’s designed to maximize your slope time and minimize the hassle.
When does it depart and from where?
Departure is from the Edmonton Inn at 5:30am with boarding beginning at 5:00am. Arrival at Marmot is around 10:00 a.m.
At the end of the day, the bus departs Marmot Basin at 4:30pm. Arrival back in Edmonton around 9:00pm
Please note: Departure times are sharp (the bus will not wait) and arrival times can vary due to traffic and road conditions.
When should I book?
Because seats fill quickly—especially on Saturdays and Holidays—you should book as soon as you know your plans.
Generally, for day trips if you book 7 days in advance you should get a spot, and for overnights you want to book 7+ days or more in advance to ensure availability.
If the bus you want to join is sold out, you can call us to be put on a waitlist and we will contact you if seats become available.
Where do I leave my vehicle?
Free parking is available at the bus departure point (behind the Edmonton Inn). If you’re staying overnight or longer, make sure to register your vehicle upon arrival as required by the Edmonton Inn. MagicBus is not responsible for theft or damage, so please lock your vehicle and remove all valuables.
How old do you need to be to ride the MagicBus?
Riders of all ages are welcome. If you’re 13 or older you may ride without a parent or guardian aboard. However, for overnight stays a room must include at least one adult aged 18 or over. Every rider will be required to sign a waiver and adults will have to sign for minors.
How does an overnight trip differ from a day trip?
Instead of heading back to Edmonton after your ski day, we will drop you off at your hotel so you can stay the night in Jasper. Our package will include lift tickets for each day of your trip (but you can opt-out if you wish). You just need to get to the mountain for your next day(s) of skiing/boarding using Marmot’s Shuttle (extra cost for this).
After your last day of skiing/boarding, you will board the MagicBus at Marmot and return to Edmonton, like the regular day trip schedule.
What do the Tour Directors do?
The Tour Directors host your journey from departure to return. They manage check-in, ensure you signed the waiver, help you load your gear, and make sure you get your lift ticket.
They also handle any on-board needs such as cabin temperature and garbage collection. They will give you a weather report and any mountain status updates from Marmot Basin.
They make sure the experience is comfortable, safe, and seamless.
Please note: Tour Directors cannot assist you while on the mountain. Marmot Basin offers Free tours of the mountain with a guide that can be used to familiarize yourself with the mountain.
Can I modify my package at all?
Yes — the packages are flexible. You can choose to substitute OFF-Slope activities such as guided snowshoe tours or icewalks as part of the trip.
You can also opt for transport only (no lift tickets) or one-way travel. For some modifications you’ll need to call to book, and availability may vary.
